I took most of them while I was depressed.
Put them together after a breakup.
Chandler helped.
We drank beers.
It was the start of summer.
Hot as hell.
It’s always hot in the city.
Concrete is the only thing that grows.
I remember my first time in Austin.
I was a kid, it was summer.
First time I ever saw a punk.
Spiked mohawk, black leather.
Scared the shit out of me.
I remember the first time I got kicked in the head at a show.
It was a Tuesday.
Was way too old to be there.
Went to my 9-5 the next morning with a black eye.
I remember talking to a homeless guy for the first time.
Took him to 7/11.
I offered food and water.
He wanted beer.
So I got him beer
I remember the first time I looked in the mirror and didn’t like what I saw.
I remember the first time I felt the same way about the world.
It wasn’t a good feeling.
All I could tell myself was sorry.
