Bio:

Ted Forbes is a photographer and YouTube creator. He has reached international acclaim with his channel, The Art of Photography. Using his platform as a way to inspire and educate, Forbes has created over 1,000 videos since 2008 covering topics from composition and technique to technical reviews and optics. In 2017 he produced “The Artist Series” (on Amazon Prime) which comprises two seasons of short films documenting the best living photographers working today including William Wegman, Alexey Titarenko, Laura Wilson, Graciela Iturbide, Keith Carter, David Brookover, Lourdes Grobet and Pedro Meyer. Ted has also worked extensively with New York based fine art photographer Ralph Gibson and also with former National Geographic photographer Sam Abell.

As a workshop instructor, Forbes teaches courses both online and internationally having offered engagements in New York City as well as Japan this year. Students on a global level have come to him to learn from a wide range of course topics as well as personalized instruction. Forbes has also used his platform to encourage and inspire a younger generation of photographers as well. In his bi-weekly “Mail Time” videos, he’s featured over 300 prints, books and zines sent in by aspiring photographers for sharing and critique. After a 7-year tenure working with the Dallas Museum of Art, Forbes began to pursue his own career. He regularly collaborates with Leica, Hasselblad, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm and Sony.

Originally from Dallas, Forbes studied at the Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and holds a music composition degree from the University of North Texas. He currently lives in Fort Worth, TX.
